Credit and debit cards

Credit or debit card details are required to act as a booking guarantee and to pay for your deposit.

If you use a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) to secure your accommodation, a 2.00 GBP administration charge will be added.  If you use a debit card, no administration charge applies.

Deposits and payment

A non-refundable deposit of *30.00 GBP per room will be taken from your card at the time of confirmation of your booking.

Cancellations

Following confirmation of your reservation, the deposit becomes non-refundable should you cancel any part, or all of your reservation.

Bookings must be cancelled 14 days in advance of your arrival date.

Please note that, once a reservation has been made, any change (such as a reduction of days or changes of dates or room type) is deemed a cancellation of the original reservation.

In the event of a no show or a cancellation with less than 14 days notice prior to the date of arrival, an amount equivalent to 100% of the total booking value will be charged.

If you are concerned about the possibility of cancellation, you are advised to take out Travel Insurance.

 

Breakages and damage

You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you and/or those that accompany you cause to the guest house, accommodation and its contents including the car park and associated parts. We ask that you report any such incidents. Your card will be debited for the full cost of all breakages (other than minor), missing items and for the replacement and/or making good of any damage. Additionally there will be a charge of £100 for soiled bedding, towels, carpets, furnishings and décor caused by, but not limited to, vomit, food and drink stains, blood and bed wetting. The guest house will also charge in full for any lost room nights resulting from any such damage and/or incidents. Excessive noise, unruly and threatening behaviour is not acceptable. The offending person/s will be asked to vacate their room and leave the guest house premises and will be charged for their booked stay.

Rates quoted

We try to ensure that all rates quoted are accurate. However, in the event of a rate calculation error, we reserve the right to amend our quotation. Should this occur, we will advise you by email to the address supplied within 24 hours. You may then either accept the revised rate or cancel your booking without incurring any cancellation charges.

Double booking

We try to maintain accurate room availability information for our on-line booking service. However, in the event that the accommodation booked has already been offered to another guest through direct contact with us, we reserve the right to cancel your booking, within 24 hours of it being made.

Policies

Check-in and check-out

Check-in time is from 16:00-10:30 [unless by prior arrangement].

Check-out time is before 11:00.

If your arrival is outside of these times please contact us by phone or e-mail to advise as you will need a code to gain access.

We would appreciate you sending us your approximate time of arrival so we can endeavour to make sure everything is ready for when you arrive.

In the event of an early morning arrival, your room may not be prepared in time, but you are welcome to leave your luggage with us and explore the West Country.

Early departures

Not a problem. Please ensure you exit the premises with consideration for other guests and leave keys in your room on departure.

Access to property

Generally, rooms are available to occupy between 4pm and 11am. Whilst we aim to be welcoming, flexible and helpful, should you wish to leave luggage or remain in the premises after this time, it may not be possible unless you have previously given notice, prior to your stay.

Children

Well behaved children over 2 accepted but must remain the sole responsibility of their parents at all times.

Smoking

We are a completely non-smoking establishment and guests who do smoke whilst staying here may be asked to leave. In such an event, guests will be liable for the full payment of the accommodation booked. A minimum cleaning charge of £50 will be charged and debited from the credit card provided at the time of booking.

Pets

Unfortunately we cannot accept pets.

We have 5 guest bedrooms [1 single/twin with WC and shower ensuite, 1 king size with bath/shower WC ensuite (can take an extra bed), 1 double or twin with adjacent facilities, 1 twin with shower and WC ensuite, 1 twin/triple/quad. ]

Food and drink

Breakfast is served between 07.30hrs and 09.30hrs. A full English Breakfast or 'something lighter' is included in your room rate. A self-serve continental breakfast is available for guests travelling early through Bristol International Airport

There are two local taverns (approx.100 yards away) providing excellent evening meals with numerous other meal options a short drive away.

If you have a late arrival, after the pubs have finished serving, it is possible to pre-book a light snack.  Please enquire about this service.

Special diets

Please advise us in advance if you have special dietary requirements.

Alcohol

We are not licensed for serving alcohol but there are numerous pubs in the village.

Parking

We have ample overnight parking for guests.

If you would like to leave your car with us whilst you are away, the parking charge includes transfers to and from Bristol Airport.

Please note that spaces are limited, so we will confirm your parking arrangements on receipt of your booking.

As an alternative, we can also arrange holiday parking at Broadfield Park and Fly.

Airport transfers

If you are leaving your car with us whilst you are away, the parking charge includes transfers to and from Bristol Airport. A taxi will be prebooked to get you to the airport in time for your check-in. Please advise when booking, what time you would like to arrive at the airport.

If you are not parking with us and wish to get to the airport, there is a bus, number 121 that stops opposite The Mendip Gate after 07.00hrs. Please see Wessex Connect for a timetable. Taxis are prebookable and cost £15.50 per trip.

Location

We are located on the Bristol Road (A38) in the village of Churchill, on the North facing slopes of The Mendip Hills (AONB). About 5 miles south of Bristol Airport, we are ideally placed for travellers through Bristol International Airport and visitors to The West Country alike. Langford School of Veterinary Science, Sandford Retirement Village, Blagdon and Chew Valley Lakes, Cheddar, Wells and Weston-Super-Mare are all within easy reach.

There is a bus stop outside The Mendip Gate (the stop before Churchill Gate), linking Bristol Bus station. The Wessex Connect bus number 121 runs between Bristol, Weston Super Mare and Bristol airport. The nearest train station is Yatton approx. 4 miles.

Rooms are available from 4 pm daily. We welcome all our guests personally so please make contact 1-2 days before your arrival to confirm your ETA. It is possible to have late check-in if you are returning in the early hours. Please enquire. Please vacate premises before 11 am.

It is usually possible to have early check-in on Saturdays to enable you to change for Weddings. Please enquire.

We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout our home and grounds.
